Abbreviation commonly used for internationalization. The 18 replaces the eitghteen letters seperating the first and last letters. The leading "i" is usually lowercased to avoid confusion with "l" lowercase or the digit "1". Because "Internationalization" is so hard to pronounce, the abbreviation is also frequently used in spoken language. |
